Heading back to Bedford Autodrome for the Sprint Duathlon was Dave Brown seeking out a qualifying place for the GB Age Group team for the 2022 World Championship. Despite the autodrome being designed for speed by former F1 driver Jonathan Palmer, it’s located on the site of a WW2 RAF station which is notorious for it’s winds to test the mettle of all the athletes. The race was a slightly longer format from 2020 and now incorporates a 5.4km run – 23km cycle – 2.6km run. Dave finished and excellent 62nd overall 1:16:31 and although qualifications are yet to be confirmed Dave still has further opportunities in the Autumn. Dave was pleased to be able to race again and happy with his solid performance.
