21 Sep Torbay Tri Club Making an Impact at Cotswold 113 20/09/20
A strong contingent of members from Torbay Tri Club headed to the Cotswolds for the Cotswold 113 middle distance triathlon. The location at the Cotswolds waterpark remains a firm favourite for triathletes to race and the challenging 1.9 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.1 mile run being no exception . The 113 represents the highlight and culmination of months of training for many of the athletes and the chance to race around picturesque Cotswolds in good conditions drew many competitors back to racing.
Although racing the previous weekend Holly Jones had an exceptional race finishing 1st in the F20-24 age group. Julian Smith also excelled with a sub 5 hour time and finishing 20th in the M30-35 category.
117 Julian Smith 4:48:30, 177 Holly Jones 5:12:27, 370 Neil Downer 5:58:14, 456 Karen Wills 6:22:01, 467 Bobby Singh 6:25:36.
In addition to the main middle distance triathlon was a Bike/Run which raced the same distances minus the swim. Jamie Stevenson dominated the race and led throughout producing a convincing 1st overall in a time of 4:48:53.
