Torbay’s only triathlon club – when one sport just isn’t enough, then Torbay Tri Club prides itself on a welcoming and professional environment for triathletes of all ages and abilities. Whether new to the sport, with race specific goals, or coming from an individual sports background and looking for a new challenge, we try to help everyone get the most from their membership.
Having officially formed in only 2013, spurred on by triathlon Olympic success in 2012, we have established ourselves in creating a positive impact on the local sporting community. More than just a club, Torbay Tri Club is a way of life for many people and used as a place to not only train but meet like-minded people and share experiences as well as their passion for the sport.
The club continues to grow not just in numbers but also in stature as members represented the club at local, regional and international races. A close-knit club, members unite on race days and for the first time this year were able to proudly pull on a new kit for race days and raise the profile of the club.

Our club is formed from people who all share a passion for swimming, cycling and running and want to enjoy training with like-minded people. Because we are affiliated to both British Triathlon and UK Athletics, you are welcome to join the club as either a triathlete or a runner. At present, there are probably 30% who are pure runners and have joined us for the structured training and camaraderie that comes with belonging to a club.
Our club has the huge advantage of having the sea on our doorstep, and the use of Torbay Velopark for safe cycling and transition practice.
Our members range from 18 years old to 70+ years old, and encompass abilities from GB age groupers to people who just enjoy a 30 minute plus Parkrun. There are people who just want to get around their first short distance event, to those who have conquered an Ironman or some other extreme event. It’s not your times that are important; it’s your desire to try.
If you have read as far as here, you’re obviously keen to give our club a go, and the hardest part really is coming down for the first time. Everybody was a first timer once, so please just take the first step and come along to one of our sessions.
