Weekend Rides

On the 1st or 2nd Sunday of each month the Club currently organises a ‘social’ bike ride for members (these may not happen during the winter months). Full details are advertised on our Members Only Facebook group. The emphasis on these rides is ‘social’ with lots of chatting and a coffee stop. They are also clearly subject to weather conditions. This is NOT a coached session but we will have several experienced riders at the front and back to offer advice and help at suitable stops

These rides are subject to our usual following rules:

    • Follow the Highway Code at all times.
    • Wear a helmet (‘no helmet, no ride’).
    • Bring a mobile phone.
    • Have a basic repair kit (at the very least a puncture repair kit, correct size inner tube replacement and pump).
    • Have working lights if not cycling during daylight hours.
    • Use a roadworthy bike.
    • Wear suitable clothing for the expected weather conditions. Always have a windproof top in case of delays in exposed locations.
    • Bring a full water bottle and snacks.

Groups of members who cycle at a similar pace do also self-organise themselves for weekend rides.
